What data do the calculators collect?
None. The dog, puppy, cat and reverse calculators run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The birthday, weight and breed you enter are used to compute the result on your device, are never sent to our servers and are discarded when you leave or refresh the page. There is no account and no login.
Because the math happens locally, we cannot see what you type into the calculators, and we do not try to. We do not use browser storage to remember your dog's details between visits. The only information a page load sends to our hosting provider is the standard technical data any website receives, such as your IP address and browser type, which is used for security and to deliver the page.
Is my dog's photo uploaded when I make a certificate?
No. The certificate generator places your dog's photo into the PDF using your own browser. The image file is read on your device, drawn into the certificate on your device and never transmitted to Pawometer or any third party. If you close the page, the photo and the certificate are gone unless you downloaded the PDF.
This is true for all three templates, including the Memorial design. Even if you use the optional email delivery described below, the PDF that is emailed is rebuilt by our server from the text fields only (name, breed, age, life stage and template) and does not contain your photo. The photo exists only in the copy you download yourself.
What does the optional email form collect?
If you choose to have a certificate emailed to you, the form sends your email address, your dog's name, breed, age, life stage and the template you chose to our Cloudflare Worker. The Worker emails the certificate through Resend and stores the contact in MailerLite, or temporarily in Cloudflare KV while MailerLite is unavailable. Nothing else is sent.
The email form is never required to use the site; every certificate can be downloaded directly. When you do use it, the data is processed by three providers acting on our behalf: Cloudflare (Workers and KV) to receive the request, Resend to deliver the email, and MailerLite to store your contact. Each provider processes the data only to perform that function. Records held temporarily in Cloudflare KV are deleted once they are transferred to MailerLite or after the retention window expires.
Will I receive marketing emails?
Only if you tick a separate, unchecked box asking to receive them, and then confirm through a double opt-in email. Requesting a certificate by email does not subscribe you to anything. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we log your consent with a timestamp and a hashed IP address so we can prove it was given.
The marketing checkbox is unticked by default and is worded plainly. After ticking it you will receive a confirmation email; if you do not click the link in it, you are not subscribed. Consent records contain the timestamp, the hashed (one-way, irreversible) IP address and the form version, and are kept only as long as you remain subscribed. We do not sell, rent or share email addresses with anyone.
What cookies and tracking does Pawometer use?
Pawometer uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how pages are used, and, when enabled, Google AdSense to display advertising. Both set cookies and may collect your IP address, device information and pages viewed. The optional email form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks for bots without a visual challenge and may set a cookie.
Google Analytics 4 reports aggregate usage such as page views, country and device type; IP addresses are truncated and we do not use it to identify individuals. Google AdSense, when active, may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites; you can manage this through Google's Ads Settings and through the consent controls shown to visitors in regions that require them. Cloudflare Turnstile runs only on the email form and processes limited browser signals to distinguish people from bots. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculators will still work.
What are my privacy rights?
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to delete it, and unsubscribe from marketing emails in one click, at any time. Email [email protected] with the address you used and we will respond within 30 days. These rights apply to everyone and satisfy GDPR in the EU and UK and CAN-SPAM in the US.
- Access: a copy of the data linked to your email address.
- Deletion: removal from MailerLite, Cloudflare KV and our consent log.
- Unsubscribe: the link at the bottom of every marketing email, honored immediately, as required by CAN-SPAM.
- Correction and objection: under GDPR, you can also correct inaccurate data, object to processing and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
We will never require you to create an account or pay a fee to exercise these rights.
How long is data kept and how is it protected?
Email delivery records are kept by Resend for its standard log period, contacts stay in MailerLite until you unsubscribe or request deletion, temporary Cloudflare KV records expire automatically, and consent logs are kept while you remain subscribed. All transfers use HTTPS, and access to provider dashboards is limited to the site operators.
We keep the amount of data small on purpose: no photos, no calculator inputs and no accounts means there is very little to protect. What we do hold is stored with providers that maintain their own security programs, and we review our access at least yearly. In the unlikely event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you by email and, where required, the relevant authority.
Does Pawometer collect data from children?
Pawometer does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. The calculators can be used by anyone without entering any personal information, but the optional email form is intended for adults. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted an email address, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
The site is a general-audience educational tool. We do not direct advertising to children and, where Google AdSense is enabled, we configure it in line with Google's policies for family-friendly content.
How will I know if this policy changes?
